Benevolent Fund

NACO maintains a benevolent fund for members in financial hardship.

The NACO Executive act as trustees of the benevolent fund - as such, applications to the fund are given consideration at the next available Executive meeting (for dates please see the Events page)

The Executive will determine the grant to be paid and reserve the right to refuse any application or request additional and/or supporting information for any application received.

Although the Benevolent Fund is open to NACO members, due consideration will be given to those no longer in membership due to retirement, ill health, redundancy etc. Consideration will also be given to immediate family and/or dependents of members and ex-members.

NACO Death Grant

To compliment the Death in Service benefit negotiated with your employer, NACO have now introduced an additional NACO Death Grant..

In the tragic event that a NACO member dies whilst in membership*, the Trustees of the NACO Benevolent Fund will make up to £2,500 available to the member's spouse or civil partner upon application to the Trustees. If you wish to nominate any other person(s) please use the Nomination Form available here.

Provided through the NACO Benevolent Fund, this Grant is designed to relieve the burden of bereavement costs and should fund the average cost of funeral expenses. No additional subscription is required and all NACO members meeting the eligibility criteria are automatically in scope to receive the Grant.
