Banking Group: General Insurance Support

General Insurance
Support for NACO Members

Sale of Assets
Following the announcement of 2012 financial results, the possibility of selling General Insurance is extremely disappointing as this is a profitable business in its own right.  NACO is disturbed by this turn of events, and will be doing all we can to explore all possible options and protect jobs.  It should be stressed that no detailed business case has yet been received.  As always we will seek to ensure that redeployment opportunities are maximised, redundancy terms protected and compulsory redundancies are avoided.

We know that members will have many questions, and when we have more specific and concrete information we will communicate with you as appropriate.  It is likely though that the sale of GI will take a considerable period.

We hope that through consultation with the trades unions CBG can deal with the process of change in a manner that reflects their Co-operative ethics and values.
