Following a meeting of the Senior Leadership Team in Food, NACO has been in further consultation with the business to understand outputs and ongoing commitments to colleagues in the Commercial Team.
We are assured that Steve Murrells' future Food strategy will be cascaded to all colleagues, beginning on March 8th. Throughout 2012 NACO members reported that the Food business lacked direction, we are therefore encouraged that Steve Murrells has taken control of strategy and expect him to deliver new focus for the business in 2013 and beyond.
The senior leadership team in Food has committed to upholding 10 leadership principles which NACO expects will build a good working environment to accompany Steve Murrells' strategy. The principles will be communicated to you in full on the 31st January at a Commercial Briefing.
2012's Listening Groups have been positive step towards building communication within the Commercial Team. Building on this, NACO has been assured that communication between the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues in Commercial will be much improved. We encourage any member facing barriers in communication to contact the NACO National Office.
Investigation into 2012/13 finances
Following concerns raised by members, NACO requested that the business investigate the allocation of suppliers' monies from 2013 and whether these have been used to bolster 2012 figures. NACO can confirm that this is now being investigated at a senior level.
