Joint Trades Union Communication

Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC)

Your Union representatives have met with Adam Williams (Head of FSSC), and representatives from Human Resources, concerning the proposed way forward within his business area, and a formal consultation process was started 6th March 2013.

A number of related announcements took place late in 2012, and today’s announcement completes the FSSC restructure to create a merged function.  The areas specifically affected are -

  • Accounts Receivable
  • Fixed Assets and Financial Control
  • Accounts Payable
  • Cash and Reconciliation.

FSSC functions currently operate out of Manchester, Leek and Burslem.  As a result of these proposals, the aforementioned teams across the Co-operative Group are to be merged, and all functions centralised to Manchester from August 2013.

All staff who are at risk of redundancy will be able to apply for internal vacancies if they wish.  Where a change of location is indicated for staff, this is dependent on whether it is reasonable for an individual to travel to the new location, which will be different for each person depending on their circumstances.

We know that this is a very difficult time for members, and that there will be a great deal of uncertainty around.

Please  contact NACO to speak with an official on any issue.
